ICC World Cup 2019: The spell of these five bowlers will hit the opponents headIf the matter of cricket pundits is considered right then this time, the World Cup 2019 crowns the head of the team that will have the best spin bowling attack. Let’s look at the five spinners with whom everyone will be watching.
New Delhi: The 12th ODI World Cup, which starts in May in England, will be played in the last round of English Summer. In this way, cricket pundits believe that the role of spinners will be crucial because of low moisture pitches and hot weather. Since the practice of two new balls has started from both ends in the ODI, the importance of spinners has increased significantly due to the batting of the batsmen and the wicket in middle overs. Let’s take a look at what are the spinners in the upcoming World Cup which will be successful in capturing the batsmen of other teams with their spin on the pitch.
Kuldeep Yadav (India):
In order to win the World Cup, the Chinnman bowler is very important for India. When India last visited England in 2018, Kuldeep had harassed the English batsmen and took nine wickets in the three-match series. However, India lost the three-match ODI series by 1-2 margin. Kuldeep has played 44 one-dayers in ODIs and has achieved 87 wickets during this period. However, in the recent times, he is battling poor form. Playing for KKR in IPL 12, he performed extremely disappointing and could only take 4 wickets in 9 matches. Playing on behalf of the Kolkata Knight Riders, they looted a lot of runs In the last round of the league they were not even included in the final eleven. Despite this, it is an important part of the Indian team led by Virat Kohli. Kuldeep’s biggest feature is his economy and strike rate. He has taken 4.93 percent economy and 26.4 striker wicket. In 2018, he had achieved 45 wickets in 19 matches. In the year 2019, he has taken 20 wickets in 11 matches.
Rashid Khan (Afghanistan):
This leg spinner has improved the game in the last few months. Rashid is at number three in the ODI rankings this time. He has been in excellent form for two years and is the key link behind the success achieved by Afghanistan in World Cricket. With the stopping of their runs, the ability to take wickets makes Rashid dangerous. He is definitely going to enjoy many batsmen in the World Cup. In the 12th edition of the IPL, Rashid has also done well and has 17 wickets in 15 matches playing against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Rashid’s record in the international one-day is also incredible. He has taken 123 wickets in 57 matches. His name is the world record of taking 100 wickets at a fastest pace in ODIs. His best performance is 7/18. For the second time, Afghanistan’s performance in Cricket World Cup will depend on Rashid Khan’s magic spell. Rashid has performed brilliantly in the last 2 to 3 years. In the 16 ODIs played in 2017, he took 43 wickets in 2018 and 48 wickets in 20 matches. In such a way, it will not be easy for any team to make them look blind.
Nathan Lyon (Australia):
Lions are an important part of the Australian Test team. He has won many Test matches for Australia on his own. He has not played a limited overs match though. There are only 25 ODIs in his account. His experience of the test can be quite a lot of Australia in ODIs. This will be the first World Cup of the Lion but this off-spinner will be an important part of the Australian attack. The ability to turn and bounce his ball can prove to be a headache for batsmen. Lion has played 26 wickets in 25 matches so far. His best performance is 4 wickets, 44 runs.
Imran Tahir (South Africa):
At the age of 40, South African leg spinner Imran Tahir has been a huge fan of success. Imran Tahir, playing his last World Cup, will be in the field to perform well and get South Africa to win his first ODI World Cup. Leg spinners are always the first choice of Captain Ff Duplessi. Whenever Duplessis is looking for a wicket, they call Tahir. The 40-year-old has played 98 ODIs and has made 162 wickets in his name. His ODI best 45 runs in seven ODIs. Tahir is also present in this wonderful form. He was the most successful bowler in the 12th season of the recently concluded IPL, grabbing 26 wickets at the Purple Cap and impressed everyone with his bowling.
Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh):
Shakib, 32, will take charge of Bangladesh’s spin attack. In addition to batting, Captain Mashrafe Mortaza would like to have his most experienced player take out wickets on important occasions. Shakib has played 198 ODIs for his country so far and has made 249 wickets in his name. Shakib has played a key role in Bangladesh’s success in all formats of the game. Although Shakib is struggling with injuries this time and it can be a thing of the past for Bangladesh. This could possibly be Shakib’s last World Cup. Shakib has a great experience playing international cricket. For the team, bowling along with other aspects will also be important.
